Hi, I’m Brian Townsell, the Owner and operator of Happy Sherpa Travel. I personally organize and guide each journey, ensuring a memorable experience for every traveler.
My passion for exploration started early, growing from my hometown roots in Buffalo. While the travel bug bit me young, it’s really been over the last fifteen years that I’ve extensively explored the US and Europe. My adventures often revolve around discovering exceptional beers and breweries. As an Assistant Brewmaster at Hofbrauhaus Buffalo, my weekdays are immersed in the brewing world, but I always eagerly anticipate packing my bags for the next exciting trip. The inspiration for Happy Sherpa Travel sparked after leading several tours through Ireland and Belgium, and realizing I wanted to share these incredible experiences with more people.
Beyond my hands-on experience, I’m also a Certified Cicerone®, demonstrating my deep knowledge and expertise in beer. Currently, I am enhancing my brewing qualifications further through the Brewing Certificate Program at ECC.
My love for beer has opened doors to travel across 15 countries and most of the United States. Now, partnering with Nick Mendola, we’re thrilled to expand our offerings at Sherpa Travel to include immersive European Football experiences. Nick brings invaluable expertise from his years heading FC Buffalo and writing for NBC Sports. Adding to our team, Paul Marko, with his extensive local knowledge, will be our dedicated guide in Belgium. I am genuinely excited for him to share his insights and passion with our travel groups.
