Beyond insulation, a notable design flaw was a pointy knob left over from the molding process located directly above the drinking port. This uncomfortable protrusion pressed against testers’ noses while drinking. Furthermore, despite being advertised as spill-proof, the Ketiee mug failed this test, leaking whether the lid was open or closed.
Ember Travel Mug 2: Battery-Powered Temperature Control, Practicality Issues
The Ember Travel Mug 2 takes temperature control to the extreme with battery-powered heating. However, without battery power, its insulation performance was among the worst in our tests. We also encountered durability problems, breaking the inner seal during a drop test. While the standard Ember Mug 2 (for home or office use with a charging coaster) has its merits, the Travel Mug 2, with its higher price and dependency on battery life, is difficult to recommend, especially given its subpar performance without power and durability concerns.
