First of all, what truly sets Jolly Roger Travel Park apart is its exceptional staff. They are consistently cheerful and always ready to assist, making every guest feel welcome and valued. During our stay over the busy Memorial Weekend in the Keys, their helpfulness was particularly appreciated.
We found the campsites to be reasonably level, requiring only minor front-to-rear leveling for our 24-foot RV. Each site is well-equipped with easily accessible water, electric, and sewer hook-ups. A concrete patio with a picnic table at each campsite adds to the convenience and enjoyment of outdoor living. For those planning to barbecue, remember to bring a separate table for portable or tabletop grills, as there are restrictions on placing them directly on the picnic tables.
The park’s laundry, restrooms, and shower facilities were maintained to a very clean standard. However, it’s worth noting that during peak holiday weekends, these facilities can become quite busy when the campground is near full capacity.
Considering the typical rates in the Keys, Jolly Roger Travel Park offers extremely reasonable prices. The office is also a valuable resource, providing brochures and information on many of the Keys’ attractions and dining options. The location of Jolly Roger is perfectly situated for exploring both the upper and lower Keys. We were able to drive to Key West in just under an hour at local speeds, even with heavy traffic.
As relatively new RVers in our second year, we found the pull-through sites to be generously spaced, which was a great advantage for someone still gaining experience. Exiting our site was also straightforward. However, it’s worth being mindful of parking tow vehicles, as inconsiderate parking by another camper could potentially make maneuvering a larger RV challenging, even for experienced drivers.
Overall, we would wholeheartedly return to Jolly Roger Travel Park. The excellent location, well-maintained facilities, and outstanding staff made our stay a true pleasure. While there isn’t a dedicated RV supply store on-site, numerous stores are conveniently located within a short drive to meet any additional needs. Jolly Roger Travel Park also offers discounts for GoodSam Club members and military personnel, adding even more value to your stay.
