Inspired by the incredible creations within this community, particularly the innovative scenery designs from TDG and other LegoBrick artists, I’ve embarked on a journey to contribute and bring a fresh perspective to virtual world exploration. It’s true, Rutracker.org Have Dreams Will Travel, and for those whose dreams involve flight, the virtual realm offers boundless possibilities.
Recognizing the existing efforts to recreate VRMM Velana International Airport in X-Plane, I felt there was room to elevate the experience and give this location the detailed attention it deserves. This scenery package is a labor of passion, aimed at enhancing your virtual travels to the Maldives.
Currently, the focus has been on the primary airport, but future expansions are on the horizon.
What’s Included in Version 1.0:
- VRMM Velana International Airport: A complete rendition of Velana International Airport, featuring a notional second runway currently under development. This brings a more realistic and dynamic feel to your virtual operations in Malé.
- Enhanced Ground Traffic: Implementation of groundtraffic.txt movement to inject life into the often static airport environments of X-Plane. Witness the hustle and bustle of airport operations, making your simulation experience more immersive.
Looking Ahead to Version 2.0 (Development Plans):
- Second Runway and Sea Airport Expansion: Continued work on the second runway and exploration of developing the Sea Airport side of VRMM. The inclusion of the sea airport is still under consideration but remains a potential future enhancement.
- Malé City Scenery: Initial steps towards incorporating Malé city itself. Please note that city development is performance-intensive and is being approached cautiously to balance visual fidelity with smooth frame rates.
- Orthophoto Imagery: Orthos are provided separately, allowing users to integrate their preferred high-resolution imagery. For optimal results, consider utilizing Ortho4XP and ArcGIS for creating detailed and accurate orthophotos.
Installation Guide:
- Library Downloads: Ensure you have the necessary scenery libraries installed. Place them in your X-Plane 11/Custom Scenery directory. You can find a comprehensive list of required libraries at the Master List link provided below, or download individual libraries as needed.
- Scenery Installation: Place the MLE-VRMM Male International Airport folder into your X-Plane 11/Custom Scenery directory.
- Launch and Enjoy: Start X-Plane 11 and select VRMM as your departure or arrival airport. Immerse yourself in the enhanced scenery and experience the difference!
