HWY100, 5 miles West of Ainsworth State Park MP 18

A section of the Historic Columbia River Highway/U.S. 30 between Wahkeena Falls and Multnomah Falls is closed to all users until Memorial Day 2025. Be aware of this odot travel condition if you are planning a visit.

Project Description: Two 100 year-old elevated roadways that provide access to Multnomah Falls are undergoing repairs to ensure continued access to one of Oregon’s most iconic sites. These viaducts are crucial for vehicles and bicycles traveling to the Falls and Lodge from the Historic Columbia River Highway. The west viaduct is closed from fall 2024 through spring 2025, and the east viaduct will be closed from fall 2025 through spring 2026. Traffic Impacts: The Historic Columbia River Highway/U.S. 30 is closed between Wahkeena Falls and Multnomah Falls until Memorial Day 2025. To visit Multnomah Falls, use I-84 Exit 31 or utilize public transit. Eastbound vehicle or bicycle access to Multnomah Falls on the Historic Highway is unavailable. The Flood Warning continues for the Malheur river near Vale, affecting Malheur county. Snow melt and increased reservoir releases are causing high river flows. Minor flooding is expected to persist.

For the Malheur river:
Including Vale, minor flooding is forecast to continue.
What: Minor flooding is currently occurring.
Where: Malheur river near Vale.
When: Until further notice.
Impacts: At 19.5 feet, the river will overflow its banks, flooding farmland between Vale and Ontario. Water will approach low spots on Butte Drive and the 36th Street bridge upstream from Ontario. At 20.5 feet, flooding will affect county roads near the river, including Westfall Road near Harper.
