Hello everyone, we wanted to give you a quick update on our health and how it’s affecting our Big Rig Travels. Recently, we experienced some health challenges that unfortunately led to an unexpected change in our plans.
A Bump in the Road – Our Health Journey
During our recent downtime, we started experiencing persistent allergy issues and breathing difficulties. While we initially thought we were getting better, things took a turn when we embarked on a trip originating in Wisconsin. It quickly became clear that continuing our journey in our current condition was not safe or sustainable. We had to make a tough decision.
For the sake of our health, we made the call to cut our trip short in Gary, Indiana. Our priority shifted to seeking medical attention and addressing our health concerns properly. We returned home to Belvidere on Thursday night and went to Urgent Care the very next morning. After evaluation, the medical professionals determined that our condition required immediate attention at the emergency room. This led to our admission to the hospital, where we are currently under observation and care.
What We Know and What It Means for Big Rig Travels
We are in excellent hands here at the hospital. A dedicated team of doctors, nurses, and specialists is working diligently to diagnose and treat us. We’ve undergone numerous tests and procedures, and the medical team is systematically ruling out possibilities and identifying the root cause of our health issues. Some test results are still pending, requiring a bit more time for verification.
Given the complexity of the situation and the ongoing investigations by experienced medical professionals, we kindly ask for your understanding and patience. Speculation and rumors are not helpful at this time. While the future is still somewhat uncertain in terms of our immediate travel schedule, we want to reassure you about a few key things:
We are committed to our life on the road. We are still truck drivers, and BigRigTravels remains our passion and our focus. Please disregard any unfounded rumors to the contrary. Our dedication to big rig travels is unwavering.
Looking Ahead: Treatment and the Road to Recovery
The medical team anticipates receiving the final crucial test results on Monday. Following further evaluations, we are hopeful to be discharged from the hospital soon after. We expect to have a comprehensive treatment plan in place, along with a series of follow-up appointments scheduled over the coming weeks.
Realistically, we anticipate needing about a month before we can comfortably resume our big rig travels. This is a preliminary estimate to accommodate our necessary follow-up care and treatment. The specifics of our treatment and recovery will ultimately determine our exact timeline for getting back on the road. However, we are fully committed to continuing our adventures, and we believe this health focus will ultimately lead to a stronger, healthier, and more sustainable journey for us in the long run, making our big rig travels even better.
A Heartfelt Thank You
We are deeply grateful for the outpouring of messages and prayers we have received. Your support means the world to us. We will continue to keep you updated as much as possible while also respecting our need for privacy during this time.
Running BigRigTravels and sharing our trucking adventures across America is a joy and a privilege. However, our health must be our top priority. Taking care of ourselves is essential so we can continue to do what we love and share it with you. Thank you for keeping this in mind.
