Venturing into the Pale Heart in Destiny 2: The Final Shape expansion reveals more than just breathtaking landscapes; it unveils hidden stories through collectible items known as Visions of the Traveler. These elusive, miniature Travelers are scattered throughout the Pale Heart, waiting to be discovered. Collecting them not only unlocks intriguing dialogues from familiar characters but also contributes to Triumph progress and other in-game rewards, including the Pale Heart Traveler seasonal challenge.
Before embarking on this collectible hunt, ensure you’ve completed The Final Shape’s main campaign and unlocked the Lost City Tower within the Pale Heart. Once accessible, a room on the south side of the Tower serves as the repository for these Visions. Columns within this room offer cryptic clues, hinting at the whereabouts of each Vision across the Pale Heart’s diverse zones.
This guide serves as your comprehensive walkthrough to locate every Vision of the Traveler in the Pale Heart, ensuring you don’t miss a single piece of this engaging scavenger hunt.
Vision 1 – The Landing: Waterside Discovery

Your journey begins in The Landing, and thankfully, the first Vision is easily accessible. As you transmat into The Landing, immediately turn to your left and approach the area’s edge. You’ll notice an ornate scaffolding structure to your right, and below to your left, a small pool of water nestled against the building’s base. Descend into this pool to claim your first Vision of the Traveler.

Vision 2 – The Blooming: High in the Dead Tree

For the second Vision, you’ll need to set your sights higher in The Blooming. This collectible is perched among the branches of a dead tree on the eastern side of the area. Transmat to The Blooming and proceed towards the eastern path leading to The Seclusion. As you spot the orange crystal marking the exit path, shift your gaze upwards towards the skeletal trees above. The Vision awaits in the upper branches. While it requires a bit of climbing, utilize the nearby cliff wall’s rocks to initiate your ascent.

Vision 3 – The Impasse: Amidst the Pyramids

Vision number three in The Impasse is surprisingly out in the open, almost camouflaged as part of the environment. Upon transmatting to The Impasse, you are already close to this Vision. It’s nestled amongst Pyramid structures arranged in a ring. From your starting point, look north towards the prominent Pyramid buildings. The specific location is to the left of these buildings, where you’ll see a sculpture topped with a ring. The Vision sits directly in the center, so conspicuous it’s easily overlooked.

Vision 4 – The Lost City: Rooftop Path to a Waterfall
To find Vision four, venture into the Lost City. Transmat to the Tower of the Lost City and descend to Micah-10’s location. Exit the Tower through the side door in this room, dropping you into the Lost City area encountered at the campaign’s beginning. You can now navigate the rooftops, identifiable by color-coded platforms representing different routes.

Facing the direction you initially entered the area, the rooftop paths are color-coded: blue to the right, red to the left of blue, and yellow furthest to the left. The red path is your destination. Traverse the red rooftops until you reach their end. Facing east, you’ll spot a small pool of water across a gap, complete with a waterfall. Leap across to this pool to discover the Vision concealed behind rocks.

Vision 5 – The Refraction: Cliffside Creek Cave
From The Landing transmat zone, proceed into The Refraction. This Vision requires a keen eye as it’s located near a creek along a cliffside path. Navigate to the crystalline caves and peer over the edge. You should discern an opening in the cliff face where a creek emerges. It’s easier to spot from a distance.

Vision 6 – The Seclusion: Searing Light Cyst Cave
Vision of the Traveler location in The Seclusion, Destiny 2, requires access to the Searing Light Cyst.
Vision six in The Seclusion presents a unique challenge. Accessing this Vision requires progress in Micah-10’s questline, specifically unlocking the Searing Light Cyst icon in The Seclusion. Advance through “Alone in the Dark” and subsequent lost Ghost quests until you are directed to Searing Light.
Once Searing Light Cyst is accessible, travel from The Blooming to The Seclusion, and then to Zavala’s Homestead. Turn left upon entering The Seclusion to find a waterfall-fed creek. Behind the waterfall, a forcefield blocked by Hive runes guards the Cyst entrance. To open it, shoot the runes on the walls in the order they appear on the forcefield.

Upon entering the Cyst, you’ll encounter a large cavern and a gnarled tree to your side. Instead of entering the cavern and the Hive encounter, circle around the tree column to your right, effectively turning back the way you came. A shadowy opening in the rocks here leads to the Vision’s secluded hiding spot.

Vision 7 – The Divide: Mountain Summit Satellite Dish

For Vision seven, prepare for a climb in The Divide. From The Seclusion or The Impasse, head towards The Divide and ascend the large frozen mountain. Continue upwards until you reach the summit. The clue mentions a satellite dish, and as you reach the mountain’s peak and the structures there, locate the satellite dish on the left side of the main building. Jump behind it to find the Vision tucked away.
Caution advised to avoid falling from the summit of The Divide in Destiny 2 while collecting the Vision of the Traveler.
Vision 8 – The Transgression: Stormy Tree Shelter
The final Vision resides in the stormy depths of The Transgression, where visibility is limited. The clue points to a dead tree, indicating a hidden spot behind one. Travel to The Transgression from The Impasse transmat zone and proceed east, venturing deep into the area, passing through three stormy sections and the buildings separating them.

As you enter one of the later storm sections, watch for a dead tree on the left side. Pyramid columns ahead signal you’re in the correct vicinity. The tree, partially obscured by dust, is quite prominent.

Placing the Visions and Claiming Rewards
With all Visions collected, return to the Tower in the Lost City transmat zone. Turn left and proceed under the platform with stairs to find a doorway leading to another room. Destiny veterans will recognize this as the Speaker’s chamber from the original game. Place each Vision on a pedestal within this room. Once all are placed, a golden chest will materialize in the center.

Opening this chest requires 17 Motes of Light. You’ll have earned eight Motes by collecting the Visions. The remaining nine drop from defeating bosses in the Pale Heart’s Overthrow activity, which rotates through The Landing, The Blooming, and The Impasse. Each location features three bosses, totaling nine Motes. Unlocking this golden chest is also integral to acquiring the new Exotic weapon, Khvostov 7G-0x. For detailed instructions, refer to our Khvostov guide.
Beyond the Exotic quest, collecting Visions unlocks a Triumph, and each Vision rewards a Mote of Light, Pale Heart engrams, and reputation gains with Ghost.
