Rifle events at Travel Games incorporate CMP Targets, powered by Kongsberg Technology Systems (KTS), offering participants a state-of-the-art shooting experience. These electronic targets instantly display scores on monitors beside each competitor, eliminating the need for traditional pit duty. This technology speeds up match completion times and reduces physical strain, allowing competitors to focus solely on their performance. Travel Games Across Different Locations
While named Travel Games, the spirit of these events extends beyond dedicated regional competitions. Popular Games events are also integrated into other CMP matches throughout the year. You can find travel games elements at events like the Talladega D-Day Matches and Talladega 600, held at the renowned Talladega Marksmanship Park in Alabama, known as the “Home of Marksmanship.” Additionally, for those attending the prestigious National Rifle Matches at Camp Perry, Ohio, Travel Games Events are also available.
Club Pay Back Program: Supporting Local Clubs
The CMP is committed to supporting local shooting clubs through the Club Pay Back Program. CMP Affiliated Clubs with five or more members participating in travel games marksmanship competitions are eligible to receive $5.00 per competitor. Club members simply need to present their club ID card at the event to participate in this program, fostering club growth and participation in travel games.
Understanding the Cancellation Policy
To ensure fairness and efficient event management, Travel Games have a clear cancellation policy. Cancellation requests must be emailed to [email protected].
- Full refunds are provided for cancellations made at least 30 days before the first event.
- A 50% refund is given for cancellations between 29 days and one day prior to the event.
- No refunds are issued for no-shows or cancellations on or after the day of the match.
Please note that no refunds are given if a match is cancelled due to inclement weather.
Firearm Inspections for Safety and Compliance
Safety is paramount at all CMP events. Therefore, all firearms used in Travel Games or CMP Service Rifle events must undergo inspection by a CMP-sanctioned armorer before any live firing. Competitors must present their scorecards to the armorer for the inspection process. To expedite inspections, competitors are asked to apply competitor labels to scorecards and include the last four digits of the firearm’s serial number.
Upon successful inspection, scorecards are stamped, and rifles receive an inspection tag. It is crucial to understand that while CMP Armorers provide an advisory role, ensuring firearm safety and rule compliance remains the competitor’s responsibility. Scorecards without the armorer’s stamp will be entered as “Out-of-Competition.” A 30-minute post-firing window is allowed for rifle inspection in unforeseen circumstances.
