However, this narrative doesn’t apply across the board. Brands like Rockwood, known for their commitment to consistent quality, did not compromise their standards. Rockwood did not suddenly hire inexperienced workers or drastically ramp up production in a way that sacrificed quality. They maintained their established processes, and our personal experience with our 2022 Rockwood Mini Lite and our current model reinforces this. Our 2022 Mini Lite was a remarkably solid and trouble-free camper, and our current travel trailer mini lite continues to uphold the same standard. We have observed no discernible drop in quality compared to our previous Rockwood RV, a 2016 model.
In fact, to say there’s been no change would be inaccurate. We’ve actually noticed improvements in various components and features in newer models. Rockwood, and indeed other reputable brands, have continued to refine and enhance their RVs. Therefore, the blanket statement that all campers made during the Covid era are inherently inferior is simply a myth.
Having witnessed the manufacturing process firsthand, we can attest to the impressive attention to detail and rigorous quality assurance measures in place at facilities like Rockwood’s. Dedicated quality control team members meticulously inspect each travel trailer mini lite as it moves along the assembly line. Secondly, the quick-disconnect fitting for the outdoor griddle is positioned incredibly far underneath the RV skirting, attached to the chassis. Accessing this quick disconnect, which requires two hands to operate securely, necessitates an uncomfortable and somewhat comical contortionist act. While we appreciate the inclusion of the outdoor flat-top griddle with our travel trailer mini lite and use it frequently, the awkward placement of the disconnect is a minor inconvenience.
Final Thoughts on Travel Trailer Mini Lite Quality
A frequent question we encounter is regarding the distinctions between Rockwood and Flagstaff travel trailers. The truth is, the difference is purely cosmetic – the stickers and branding. They are produced by the same manufacturer, Forest River, utilizing identical processes and on the same assembly lines. Therefore, if a Rockwood dealer isn’t conveniently located, but a reputable Flagstaff dealer is accessible, the Flagstaff Micro Lite equivalent, such as the Flagstaff 22FBS, is essentially the same high-quality travel trailer mini lite.
