Travelers Championship Generates Record-Breaking Donations for Charity

The 2024 Travelers Championship, a PGA TOUR Signature Event, has once again proven to be a significant force for good, generating a record-breaking amount of over $3.2 million for more than 170 nonprofit organizations in the region. This remarkable achievement elevates the total charitable contributions to over $30 million since Travelers became the title sponsor in 2007, solidifying its place as a tournament that truly gives back.

“It was an incredible week witnessing golf history, with the world’s best players competing before the most enthusiastic fans,” stated Alan Schnitzer, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Travelers. “We extend our congratulations to the 2024 champion, Scottie Scheffler, for his outstanding performance. This year’s Travelers Championship was a resounding success, from the thrilling competition on the course to the amazing fan turnout and the record-breaking charitable impact. We are already looking forward to next year’s event.”

The Travelers Championship distinguishes itself by donating 100% of its net proceeds to deserving local charities. This year, The Hole in the Wall Gang Camp, based in Ashford, Connecticut, served as the primary beneficiary. This wonderful organization is dedicated to providing fun and friendship to children dealing with serious illnesses. Beyond the primary beneficiary, numerous other nonprofits benefited from the tournament’s success, representing a wide spectrum of causes including arts and culture, education, healthcare, housing, human services, mental health support, food security initiatives, science and technology programs, and youth development.

Andy Bessette, Executive Vice President and Chief Administrative Officer at Travelers, emphasized the profound community impact of the event: “The exceptional level of competition at this year’s Travelers Championship will once again create a positive ripple effect throughout our community. The unwavering support from our volunteers, the fans, the state of Connecticut, the PGA TOUR, and the world-class players is what allows us to reach new heights each year. We are committed to building on this success to ensure an even greater impact on the hundreds of charities across the Northeast in the years to come.”

Golf fans and supporters of charitable giving can mark their calendars for the 2025 Travelers Championship, scheduled for June 16-22 at TPC River Highlands in Cromwell, Connecticut. This upcoming tournament will mark Travelers’ 19th year as title sponsor, making them the longest consecutive title sponsor in the tournament’s history, which dates back to 1952.
